Joint Communication from Aerie & Auxiliary Presidents

 HELLO IOWA CITY #695. I hope you all are doing well and are ready for a nice fall season. We need to start with an apology that is long overdue. Earlier this summer we had some members from our Aerie and Auxiliary come down and in a couple days replaced and rewired our back room ceiling to make it look so much better. This was done June 30th and July 1st and was financed with donations by our Past Worthy Presidents Club, Auxiliary and Eagle Riders. Some of our members came down to donate their time to help make the Back Room look so much better.  If you haven't had a chance to take a look at the ceiling in the back room, take some time and look up. IT LOOKS GREAT so to all that donated their time and to those that donated money to make this happen THANK YOU.

 We have started our Friday night meals and that means we have some really good food coming out of the #695 Kitchen on Friday nights. We will be posting what we will be serving on line and at the Club, so come down and join us. If you want to help out with one of the meals, please feel free to volunteer. We can always use some extra help and it's a good time for all. Don't forget that we are still having our Monday night Burger night and Thursday nights we are going to have our wing nights again starting this month.

 Here in Iowa City we have had many rumors going around in many different directions. I will soon have answers and be able to give the rumors a rest. Many people talk about things and sometimes the truth gets turned a little here and a little there. I want the best for this Club and I know that we are able to get past this. Let’s put the rumors to rest.

 We are trying something new this year for our membership drive. The Aerie and Auxiliary are teaming up to raise our membership and have prizes for those that sign up new members. Stop down and see how we are doing this. If you sign up a member, you will get your name in for many prizes.

 Remember that we have the Hawkeyes on our TVs during game day. Bring a snack to share and let’s cheer on the Hawks invite your friends too. We also have tall boys on special for game day.

  Thanks everyone who came to the Castaway Fish Fry. It was a great success and they had a good turnout.  They raised a lot of money to help send many veterans on the fishing trip. This has been made possible by you.

Rumor Mill at Aerie #695

 Hello Eagle members, I want to let everyone know that there have been a lot of rumors going around here in Iowa City about our Aerie. True there has been a Representative from the Grand Aerie here in Iowa City working with the Officers to help settle some issues. This has created a bunch of different rumors and I can tell you that some of them have come out of the blue and I'm not sure where the rest came from. I don't want to get into details in this bulletin, but if you want to know all the details please ask an Aerie Officer. The Aerie has a few things we want to work on to help better things here in our home. There are always things to work on to help with communication and to make us be the best we can be. Let’s look forward to the holidays and don't forget that we are here for you so come down and have some fun. Remember our motto PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE that includes you so we will see you soon.

News from the Eagle Riders

Hello Eagle Riders, I do want to apologize for not reminding when our eagle riders meeting change in September to the second Sunday at noon. The weather is changing quickly but we are having a Poker Run on the 1st of October Saturday. It is a bye week for the Hawks so come down and enjoy the day with us and support the Eagle Riders. We would love to have everyone join us. Also we are raffling off a rifle and a shotgun and this will be November 8 at 7pm. You can buy tickets from behind the bar, 3 tickets for $10 or 1 ticket for $5. This is the perfect time to win a gun, right before hunting season. Our meeting in October we need to talk about new officers for 2012. I can't believe that this year is almost over. If you are interested in taking a seat please show up and we would love to tell you all about what each seat does. September 30^th was 4 year anniversary so congrats to Iowa City Eagle Riders 695. The month of November we are going to put out a box in the social room for the Salvation Army. We are asking for coats, boots, hats, and gloves any sizes.  Let’s help out other organizations in our community.
